Angus Clyne of Glenuig was born and brought
up on the West Coast of Scotland and has been
turning wood professionally for over ten years. All
the wood used for his work is locally sourced
native hardwood, which comes from windblown trees.
His work incorporates both wet and dry woodturning
techniques and the natural shape and grain of
the wood that is used influences the forms that
he produces. For the vases and hollow forms
that he makes he has developed his own range of
specialist tools in order to create these shapes.
The work is sold in galleries and shops throughout
the UK and abroad, and also from his purpose-built
workshop in the village of Glenuig.
Angus's showroom and workshop is open all year
and is the turf-roofed wooden building one mile
from the junction with the A861 in Glenuig, along
the road to Smirisary.
